Sometimes a cat’s journey home has a few more twists and turns than it should.

Senior sweetheart Camila was originally adopted from Animal Care Centers of NYC. After a fire in her family’s home, she was returned to ACC and later readopted. We don’t know what happened after that, but sadly, Camila was found wandering the streets and was brought back to ACC by a Good Samaritan and the family did not reclaim.

Thankfully, that wasn’t the end of her story. Camila started a brand-new chapter when she was adopted by Virginia and her family through our Seniors for Seniors Program.

Through the program, Camila’s future medical care will be covered by the Ladew Foundation at one of our participating veterinary hospitals—giving her family one less thing to worry about and giving Camila the security every senior kitty deserves.

No more streets. No more uncertainty.

Camila is finally home on 9/22/26.

Welcome to the Ladew family, Virginia—and happy forever, sweet Camila!
