MILKSHAKE IS ADOPTED on 8/6/26!
This is the update we’ve been waiting to share — Milkshake has officially gone home!
Milkshake came to us as one of the kittens rescued from the Glen Cove hoarding situation. After battling an upper respiratory infection, we thought he was finally on his way to a healthy kittenhood. But then he suddenly stopped eating, developed a fever, and just wasn’t his usual mischievous, door-dashing self.
Bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes, and an ultrasound revealed abdominal fluid consistent with FIP. Milkshake was immediately hospitalized at West Hills Emergency Hospital — but the very next day, things became even scarier when he developed pneumonia and needed to be placed in an oxygen cage.
Thanks to incredible veterinary care and so many people who donated toward his treatment, Milkshake fought his way back. He came off oxygen, started eating on his own, returned to us, and before long our little purr monster was running around and playing again!
He will continue his FIP treatment but look at him now — Milkshake is HOME!
To everyone who donated, prayed, shared his story and cheered him on: YOU helped make this happy ending possible. We truly could not have gotten him here without you.
Happy life, Milkshake! After everything you’ve been through, you deserve every snuggle, toy and treat coming your way.
