Happily Ever After for Onyx on 6/30/26.
Just a short time ago, Onyx was living outdoors in a colony, where she had spent years surviving on her own. But caretakers quickly learned that this beautiful long-haired senior girl was simply too sweet to remain outside. Her previous caretakers provided medical care including dental surgery and a foster fell in love with her but was unable to keep her long term.
Once she came to Ladew, Onyx embraced the indoor life with open paws. She loved soft beds, gentle pets, and all the attention she had been missing. We knew it wouldn’t be long before someone saw just how special she was.
We’re thrilled to share that Onyx has found her forever home! Even more heartwarming, her adoption came about in the most wonderful way. Dr. Susan happened to be seated next to Eileen at a dinner honoring Linda Stuurman for her incredible work with Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. During their conversation, Eileen mentioned that she had lost her beloved black long-haired cat a few years ago and wondered if Ladew happened to have one looking for a home.
As fate would have it… we did.
Congratulations, sweet Onyx! After years of living outdoors, you now have the loving home you always deserved. Thank you, Eileen, for opening your heart to this very special girl. We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and cuddles.
