A Good Samaritan found sweet little Renee, wandering the streets of Long Island. The Good Sam was afraid for her safety and health and brought her to Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. TOH took her in and, because they have so many, they sent out a plea to see if any other groups could assist by taking some in.

At the time, we had space. Renee stole our hearts with her floofy ears and air-biscuit dance. Apparently she also stole the heart of her Good Samaritan, Steven, who could not stop thinking about her. He decided he wanted to adopt her, but when he contacted the Town of Hempstead and they told him she had been transferred to us. Steven contacted us, filled out the adoption application and we are thrilled to report that Renee and her Good Samaritan, Steven, have been reunited on Nov. 22, 2022.
