Vanilla Twist was found on the street as a stray with a severe injury to his left eye. Vanilla Twist came to us in September from Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC). Despite his rough start, he's a sweetie. At the time, with the state of his eye, we (and ACC) thought he would need an enucleation. While we were waiting to arrange surgery, we started aggressive treatment of the eye and were thrilled that we were able to save it, but he will always have a scar. As if that wasn’t enough for a little guy to handle, he also came in with ringworm (which was finally cleared a couple of weeks ago).

We are so happy to have been a part of his journey and to see him go to a wonderful home on Dec. 30th, 2022 with Emily and Tadhg. Happy life VT — you’re a warrior!
